God's Work. Our Hands. — Stock The Lord's Pantry (September 7)
God's Work, Our Hands is a day to serve and love our neighbors. This year we're collecting donations for The Lord's Cupboard, providing essential goods for those in need in our community.
Please donate non-perishable foods, toilet paper, and personal care supplies by Sunday, September 7th.
You can also make a financial donation through our giving page; select "Designated Missions" and choose The Lord's Cupboard food pantry: https://secure.myvanco.com/L-ZA9W/home.
Winter Coat Drive through (all September)
Once again, this September we're collecting coats, hats, gloves, and other winter weather gear for people in our community.

High School Youth Group (September 3)
High School Youth Group returns September 3, 2025! We’re meeting EVERY Wednesday from 7:30–8:30 p.m. throughout the 2025–2026 South Hamilton Academic Year.
Join us in the Youth Room (2nd floor of the Education Wing at Bethesda Lutheran Church). While we’re not serving full meals this year, we’ll have FREE snacks, bars, and drinks available each week.
Interim Pastor Jonathan Dolan will lead our weekly gatherings, supported by Eric and Roxie Young — trusted mentors who’ve been connecting with our group for a few years. You can expect meaningful Bible discussions with the theme of the year being God’s faithfulness towards humans, engaging group games, and honest conversations. We’ll also explore service projects and hear from guest speakers who bring valuable insight.
Whether you’re seeking answers, community, or a midweek recharge, this space is for you. Come as you are, bring a friend, and get ready for experiences that will strengthen your faith in Jesus Christ and build lasting faith-filled friendships. We’re excited to welcome you!
Festeburg of Wartburg (September 14)
The Festeburg of Wartburg male vocal ensemble will be at Bethesda with a brunch following. Festeburg is a 12-member men's ensemble from Wartburg Choir.
Stop Human Trafficking - free presentation (September 23)
Attend this free presentation and learn about the devastating reality of human trafficking and how to take a stand against it.
On Tuesday, September 23 at 6:00 p.m., Stacy Besch will screen the film Gridshock and share eye-opening facts about how this crime is affecting people in our communities.
The Lord's Cupboard
The next Mobile Food Truck distribution is scheduled for October 14.
The Mobile Pantry Program from The Food Bank of Iowa operates in 30 counties with local food pantries to help fight hunger in Iowa. Volunteers are always needed and the help is greatly appreciated.
