Annual Pumpkin Auction Fundraiser, 10/27
Our high school youth group has decorated pumpkins for the annual auction, which will take place after worship on Sunday, October 27. The pumpkins will be displayed for early viewing in the church.
Winter Warm Up, 10/28
South Hamilton families in need can receive winter clothing (coats, hats, gloves, scarves, etc.) during open hours for The Lord's Cupboard at Bethesda Lutheran Church on Monday, October 28 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday Together Time Updates, 10/29
On October 29, the group will meet at Jewell United Church of Christ.
Bergen Lutheran Fall Festival, 11/2
On Saturday, November 2, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Bergen Lutheran Church (101 W. Maple St. in Roland) will host a drive-through ham ball meal for its Fall Festival. It will also feature a bake sale with Scandinavian treats. Free will offering.
St. Mary Catholic Fall Festival, 11/3
On Sunday, November 3, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., St. Mary Catholic Church (in Williams) will serve a drive-through take out meal of chicken and homemade noodles, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, frozen corn, salad, and pie. $15 per meal. St. Mary's pickles will be available for sale. Enter church parking lot from the east side.
Youth Group Updates & November activities
Prayer volunteers wanted! At the end of every meeting, the youth are asked to think about someone or something in their life that needs extra prayers. If you are willing to be a part of this prayer chain, please email Donna Busch.
High schoolers can join us from 6:00–7:30 p.m. for these November activities:
11/6, supper and speaker
11/20, supper and Giving Tree shopping in Ames
12/4, wrapping presents for the Giving Tree
Love the Lord, Love The Lord’s Cupboard Match Opportunity
The group Love the Lord, Love the Lord’s Cupboard will match up to $2,500 in donations to The Lord's Cupboard food pantry made by December 1. Please send your donations to The Lord’s Cupboard, PO Box 330, Jewell, IA 50130, or drop in the offering plate at Bethesda Lutheran Church (designating the offering for The Lord's Cupboard).
Most critical pantry needs:
Jello
Ramen noodles
Canned peaches
Soup
Cereal
Soap
Lutheran Disaster Response
Because of the current need in the United States and the appeal by Lutheran Disaster
Response, Tuesday Together Time attendees voted on Tuesday, October 8, to send $2,000 they collected to Lutheran Disaster Response hurricane relief. Praise God for the good work of the Lutheran Disaster Response, where 100% of gifts received will be used to assist those affected by hurricanes. If you would like to make a donation to the Lutheran Disaster Response, forms can be found on the table in the back of the Sanctuary. You may send your check directly to Hurricane Response or designate your offering for this purpose.
